Brief description of little inductance pulse capacitors

Capacitors KPIM type with dimensions 450х150х326 and KPIM1 with dimensions 160х160х360 are assigned to operate in a pulse mode with frequency of recurrence of cycles the charge - discharge up to 1 Hz. Capacitors are designed for a voltage 5-100 kV. The maximal current of the capacitor KPIM is 300 kA, and KPIM1 - 100 kA. Capacitors can operate both in vertical, and in horizontal positions. A reverse of a voltage in the capacitor at the discharge on loading is no more than 10 %. The design life of the capacitor given in to the table, corresponds to such type of the discharge, at probability of the non-failure operation equal 0,90. In case of the necessity of increasing the design life of the capacitor or its operation in an oscillatory mode, the operating voltage should be reduced for the value, according to figures . ( 3 ), ( 4 ), ( 5 ), ( 6 );

The capacitors are produced in cases made of cold-resistant polypropylene. For reduction of inductance terminals of the capacitor of one polarity are connected among themselves and are on rather small (~ 50 mm) distance from terminals of other polarity. Terminals are divided by a dielectric barrier. The number of terminals of one polarity of the capacitors KPIM is 3, and for capacitors KPIM1 is two. The structure of a symbol, limiting climatic and mechanical influences are similar to capacitors KPI. The letter of M in a symbol means " low-inductance ".

The main technical characteristics of little inductance capacitors

The value capacity of capacitors given in tables 3 and 4, can deviate from nominal at ±10 %. By inductance there is own inductance of the capacitor. The tangent of a corner of dielectric losses at  f = 50 Hz is equal 0,002?0,003. The design life is specified for a case of discharge of capacitors on loading with application of voltage in reverse polarity  no more than 10 % and +20 0C. When the service conditions deviate from one are shown in the table, resource may be approximately calculated by the formula: N =N0*K1*K2*K3*K4, where N0 - nominal resource; K1, K2, K3, K4 - a longevity coefficients, which determine with the aid of curves, are shown in the Fig. ( 3 ), ( 4 ), ( 5 ), ( 6 ).

Field of application of little inductance capacitors

Little inductance capacitors assigned for production of high-lewel pulse current in electrophysic sets (magnetic punching, neutron generators etc.).
